To create world’s largest seed and pesticide firm, German chemical and pharma giant, Bayer AG acquired global biotech major Monsanto for $66 billion.
The deal is expected to be close by end of 2017.

Aircel to merge with Reliance Communications

Anil Ambani’s Reliance Communications agreed to merge its wireless telecom business with Aircel. After the merger, the new entity will become India’s fourth largest mobile phone operator. The merged entity will have second largest spectrum holding among all operators.
RCom and Maxis Communications Berhad (MCB) will each hold 50% stake in merged entity, with equal representation on the Board of Directors and all committees.

On the opening day of Track Asia Cup, India’s Deborah Herold won two gold medals – one in the women’s elite 500m and the second in the team sprint elite event.
