  • Small Industries Development Bank of India has launched a 'Make in India soft loan fund' to help the sector take part in government's 'Make in India' initiative.
  • Entrepreneurs are provided soft loan in the nature of quasi equity and term loan to meet the required debt — equity ratio for establishment of a new unit. The finance is also available for expansion and technical upgradation of the existing units.

Scramjet Rocket Engine Successfully Tested

  • India successfully tested its own scramjet or air breathing engine with the launch of a rocket.
  • The scramjet engine, used only during the atmospheric phase of the rocket's flight, will help in bringing down the launch cost by reducing the amount of oxidiser to be carried along with the fuel.
  • The scramjet engine designed by ISRO uses hydrogen as fuel and the oxygen from the atmospheric air as the oxidiser.
  • India is the fourth country to demonstrate the flight testing of scramjet engine.
