North Korea Threatens to Fire at US and S. Korean Troops
North Korea threatened to fire at the lighting equipment used by provocative American and South Korean troops at a truce village inside the Demilitarized Zone that divides the two Koreas.
North's Korean People's Army accused US and South Korean soldiers of "deliberate provocations" by aiming their lights at North Korean guard posts at Panmunjom.
After few years of gridlock over land allocation, protest by locals and mining issues, Tata Steel has finally withdrawn its plan to set up a 5.5 million tonne per annum (MTPA) green field integrated steel plant in tribal Bastar region of Chhattisgarh.
Tata Steel had signed a Memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the state government in June 2005 for setting up a green field steel plant with an investment of about Rs. 19,500 crore.
Earlier, the MOU was extended for some time and finally it ended in June 2016 and the company did not seek further extension of the memorandum of understanding.
GMR to Build Goa’s Mopa Airport
GMR Airports Ltd (GAL) has won an international competitive bid for the development and operation of Mopa Greenfield Airport in North Goa.
Five bidders had qualified had qualified for the bid.
The airport is to be built under the Build Operate Transfer model.
Tata Sons has appointed Bain Capital Managing Director Amit Chandra as a non-executive director on its board with immediate effect.
Mr. Chandra joined Bain Capital as Managing Director in 2008 and is part of the firm’s leadership team in Asia.
Prior to joining Bain Capital, Mr. Chandra spent most of his professional career at DSP Merrill Lynch and retired as its board member and managing director in 2007.
