State Bank of India (SBI) got the Cabinet’s approval to merge five of its associate banks with itself.
The five banks that are set to merge with SBI are State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, State Bank of Travancore, State Bank of Patiala (SBP), State Bank of Mysore and State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH). Along with the associate banks, the public sector Bharatiya Mahila Bank (BMB) will also merge with SBI.
Following the merger, SBI might move into the ranks of the top 50 banks globally.
India Reaches Maiden Champions Trophy Hockey Final
India finished second after the league stage of the Champions Trophy Hockey and take on mighty Australia in the title clash of the six-nation tournament.
This is India's first ever Champions Trophy final after winning a bronze medal way back in Netherlands in the 1982 event.
