The largest cruise ship (Harmony of the Seas) in the world set sail on its maiden voyage to the UK after 32 months in a French shipyard.
At 362 meters (1,187 feet) long, the 16-deck ship is bigger that the Eiffel Tower and holds the record for being the widest cruise ship ever built.
It has a passenger capacity of 6360, more than 2,500 staterooms, 20 dining venues, 23 swimming pools and a park with more than 10,000 plants and 50 trees.
FPIs Get Nod to Invest in Unlisted Debt Securities
To attract more foreign funds into capital markets, Reserve Bank has allowed FPIs to invest in unlisted debt securities as well as in securitised debt instruments.
As per the RBI directive, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) can invest in the primary issues of non-convertible debentures/bonds by a public company.
ISS Successfully Completes 100,000th Orbit of Earth
After 17 years in space, NASA's microgravity laboratory, the International Space Station, has successfully completed its 100,000th orbit of Earth.
It was launched into orbit in 1998.
The ISS serves as a microgravity and space environment research laboratory.
ISS is the ninth space station to be inhabited by crews.
Hike in Petrol and Diesel Prices
Petrol and diesel prices have been hiked again by 83 paisa and Rs. 1.26 per litre, respectively.
This is the second hike in this month. The prices were earlier hiked on 1st May.
The current level of international product prices of petrol and diesel and the rupee-US Dollar exchange rate warrant increase in price of petrol and diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision.
RCB skipper Virat Kohli surpassed his team-mate Chris Gayle's record of 733 runs in a single IPL season during his match the 48th match of IPL 2016 against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Gayle's 733 runs in 14 innings came in the 2012 edition.
Kohli bettered the record in his 12th innings this season. His run of scores in the tournament read: 75, 79, 33, 80, 100*, 14, 52, 108*, 20, 7 and 109 and 75*. Kohli's tally after 12 matches stands at 752 runs.
As many as 112 villages were electrified across the country, taking the total tally to 7,766.
Of the 112 electrified villages, 2 are in Arunachal Pradesh, 42 in Assam, 24 in Jharkhand, 16 in Madhya Pradesh, 11 in Bihar, 6 in Chhattisgarh, 3 in Himachal Pradesh, 3 in Rajasthan, 2 in Odisha, 2 in Uttar Pradesh and 1 in Manipur.
