N. Korea Adapts Policy to Expand Nuclear Arms

  • North Korea's first ruling party Congress formally adopted leader Kim Jong-Un's policy of developing the country's nuclear arsenal in tandem with the economy.
  • North Korea's top decision-making body adopted a decision to simultaneously push forward economic construction and boost self-defensive nuclear force both in quality and quantity.
  • At the same time it also enshrined a policy of not using nuclear weapons unless its sovereignty is threatened by another nuclear power, and of working towards the eventual reunification of the divided Korean peninsula.

India Ninth in Crony-capitalism Index

  • According to study by The Economist, India is ranked ninth in crony-capitalism with crony sector wealth accounting for 3.4 percent of the GDP.
  • As per the crony-capitalist index, in India the non-crony sector wealth amounts to 8.3 per cent of the GDP.
  • India’s ranking in 2014 was also at the ninth place.
  • Russia tops the list followed by Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore.
