Turkey Threatens Not to Implement Migrant Deal

Nita Ambani Tops Forbes Asian Women Power List

  • Reliance Industries director Nita Ambani and State Bank of India chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya have been ranked top two in Forbes' "Asia 50 Power Businesswomen 2016" list.
  • Including Ambani and Bhattacharya, eight Indian businesswomen have made the cut in the latest list.
  • The other six are: Ambiga Dhiraj, Dipali Goenka, Vinita Gupta, Chanda Kochhar, Vandana Luthra and Kiran Mazumdar.

SBI and ICICI Cut Home Loan Rate

  • SBI and ICICI have cut their home loan rates by 0.10 percentage point to 9.4 percent following implementation of a new interest rate calculation regime mandated by RBI.
  • The lending rates of other banks may also fall soon with the Marginal Cost of Funds based Lending Rate (MCLR) system, which has come into force with from April 1.
  • If the banks decide to pass on the latest 0.25 percent policy rate cut announced by RBI in April, the rates for borrowers may go down further.

Monstrous Black Hole Uncovered

  • Astronomers have discovered a near-record breaking supermassive black hole, weighing 17 billion suns, in the center of a galaxy in a sparsely populated area of the universe.
  • This discovery may be an indication that these monster objects may be more in number.
  • Till now, the biggest supermassive black holes, that are roughly 10 billion times the mass of our sun.
  • As per NASA, the current record holder tips the scale at 21 billion suns and resides in the crowded Coma galaxy cluster that consists of over 1,000 galaxies.
