Hillary Clinton Wins South Carolina Primary

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has won the South Carolina primary by a landslide.
Drawing overwhelming support from local African-American voters, the first state in this election cycle that features a large proportion of black voters, delivered a blow to Senator Bernie Sanders, as the nomination fight now barrels toward next date, when 11 states will vote on the same day.
According to exit polls, black voters this time overwhelmingly picked Clinton over Sanders by a 5-to-1 ratio.

Despite Truce Shells Hit Syrian Capital

A number of shells hit residential neighbourhoods in the Syrian capital hours after a ceasefire agreed by world powers began.
Terrorist groups" fired shells from neighbourhoods east of Damascus.
It was the first reported attack on the capital since a ceasefire began at midnight.
Syria\'s armed forces issued a statement warning against the consequences of such actions and called on civilians to remain committed to local reconciliation.

First Ever Auction of an Indian Gold Mine

Chhattisgarh earned the distinction of auctioning its first gold mine in India with Vedanta Private Limited quoting the highest bid of 12.55 per cent of IBM (Indian Bureau of Mining) price of Rs. 74,712/ troy ounce to win the gold mine against three other bidders.
The mine, with a reserve of 2700 kg, is expected to earn more than Rs. 81.40 crores to Chhattisgarh in addition to existing royalty of Rs. 24.70 crores.

Blue Bubble Encircling Wolf-Rayet Star Spotted

Hubble has spotted a bright and shining Wolf-Rayet star, also known as WR 31a, located about 30,000 light years away in the constellation of Carina (The Keel).
The star seems to be enclosed in a distinctive blue bubble, called Wolf-Rayet nebula.
According to NASA, the bubble is an interstellar cloud of dust, hydrogen, helium and other gases.

Justice Vineet Saran was sworn-in as the 29th Chief Justice of Orissa High Court.
Governor S. C. Jamir administered the oath of office to Justice Saran.
The post of the Chief Justice in the Orissa High Court was lying vacant after Chief Justice DH Waghela was transferred to Bombay High Court.
