Rebelo de Sousa Wins Portugal's Presidential Election
Rebelo de Sousa, a center-right candidate has recorded an emphatic victory in Portugal's Presidential Election, collecting more than half of the votes against nine rivals as voters picked a counterweight to Portugal's center-left Socialist government.
With 98 percent of the votes counted, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa won 52.4 percent to capture the mostly ceremonial post.
Rebelo de Sousa will move into the head of state's riverside Pink Palace in Lisbon in March, replacing Anibal Cavaco Silva, who has served the maximum of two five-year terms.
Mahindra Defence and Airbus Helicopters inked a pact to form a joint venture to produce military helicopters in India.
Mahindra Defence and Airbus Helicopters have already started working on steps to produce helicopter parts locally and are defining additional work packages to be industrialised in India.
Simultaneously, both sides are evaluating potential industrial sites and are screening the existing local supply chain while moving ahead with the setting up of the JV.
Mumbai, Delhi among top Asia Pacific Cities
India's financial hub Mumbai, which is home to 41,200 millionaires, and national capital Delhi, which houses 20,600 high net worth individuals, have been named among the top Asia Pacific cities for HNIs.
According to the Asia Pacific 2016 Wealth Report, Tokyo is the top Asia Pacific city for the ultra-rich with 2,64,000 millionaires, while Mumbai and Delhi were ranked 12th and 20th respectively.
High Net Worth Individuals or HNWIs (millionaires) were defined as those individuals with net assets of USD 1 million or more.
P. V. Sindhu Wins Malaysia Masters Grand Prix Gold
P. V. Sindhu defeated Kirsty Gilmour to win the final of the Malaysia Masters Grand Prix Gold.
This is the first win of Sindhu for the year 2016.
This is her fifth Grand Prix Gold title.
This is her second Malaysia Masters Grand Prix Gold title, having won it in 2013 as well. She also completed a hat-trick at the Macau Open Grand Prix Gold in November last year.
Amit Shah was re-elected as President of the Bharatiya Janata Party for a full three-year term, retaining the post he has held since the party took power in the country in 2014.
He had taken charge of the party in August 2014 from now Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
He joined the BJP in 1986 -- a year before Modi did. A four-time legislator in Gujarat, Shah was a Home Minister in the state when he was embroiled in a fake encounter case.
