More than 12,000 candidates have signed up for the Iranian parliamentary elections due to be held in February, the most since the Islamic revolution in 1979.
The number of people who registered to stand was up nearly 70 percent compared with the previous legislative polls in 2012.
Women accounted for 11 percent for the 290 seats available, up from eight percent last time.
According to RBI, after rising for two consecutive weeks, India’s foreign exchange reserves fell by $1.4 billion to $351.106 billion in the week ended December 18 on account of a fall in foreign currency assets.
Coal India Output Up
The coal output by state-owned Coal India Limited (CIL) crossed 9 per cent over last year’s production adding that there is “still a very long way to go” amid the PSU eyeing the one billion tonnes production target.
Coal India’s production had jumped 8.8 per cent to 321.38 million tonnes (MT) during April-November period of the current fiscal.
CIL accounts for over 80 per cent of the domestic coal production.
