UPSC Civil Services Exam Notification: UPSC CSAT (Preliminary) 2014 for IAS

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is conducting UPSC CSAT 2014 Exam for all the eligible candidates for the Group A and Group B posts. CSAT 2014 exam is scheduled to be held on 24th August, 2014. Selected candidates in the CSAT exam will have to serve under Indian Govt. for various posts like Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and many more. Eligibility Criteria of CSAT:
Educational Qualification:
The candidate must hold a graduation degree in any stream from recognised university.
Age Limit:
Candidate must have age limit between 21 years to 32 years as on 01-08-2014. Candidate must be born not before 02-08-1982 and not later than 01-08-1993 to be eligible for CSAT 2014 Exam. Age relaxation is applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories.
Application Fee:
Candidates (except Female/SC/ST/PH category who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to deposit a fee of Rs. 100/- through online mode with Debit/Credit card/Net-banking or through Offline method by submitting Draft or cash in SBI bank.
CSAT 2014 Exam Plan:
  1. Civil Services Preliminary Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for Main Examination; and
  2. Civil Services Main Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for various services and posts.
CSAT 2014 Exam Pattern and Syllabus:

How to Apply:
  • Candidates are required to apply through online mode by using official website http://www.upsconline.nic.in
  • Candidate will have to fill in all mandatory details in the application form.
  • Complete instructions are provided to fill the application form for CSAT 2014 exam in the official notification.
  • Candidate will have to submit application fee as declared by UPSC with any available mode of payment.
Selection Process:
Candidates will be shortlisted on basis of their performance in the written exam. Now, shortlisted candidates will appear in CSAT Main Exam 2014 which will be in December 2014. Final selection will be based on Interview held for selected candidates in CSAT Main Exam.
