UGC NET June 2014 Notification, Important Dates, Application Form

The University Grants Commission has announced the dates for National Eligibility Test (NET) for June, 2014. NET exam is conducted twice a year in June and December. Candidates can apply for NET exam to be held on 29th June, 2014 for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian universities and colleges.

Eligibility Criteria:
Age Limit:
  1. For Junior Research Fellowship, the candidate’s age should not be more than 28 years
  2. For Assistant Professor, there is no upper age limit
Educational Qualification:
Candidate must have secured 55% of marks in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/Institutions recognised by UGC in Humanities and Social Science, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science, etc are eligible for this test.

First I 100 60 out of which 50 to be attempted 1 hour and 15 minutes
Second II 100 50 questions all are compulsory 1 hour and 15 minutes
Third III 150 75 questions, all compulsory 2 hours and 30 minutes

How to Apply:
  • Interested and eligible candidates can apply through online mode (i.e. www.ugcnetonline.in )
  • Candidate will fill all mandatory details and upload scanned passport size photograph.
  • A system generated “Bank Challan” will be generated and candidate will have to pay application fee at any branch of State Bank of India
  • After 2 days of payment, candidate can check his/her application status at official website
  • Completely filled in application form is required to be enclosed in the envelope and should be superscribed “UGC National Eligibility Test for Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lectureship, June 2014”
Enclosures to be sent with the Application:
  1. Copy of Bank Challan (UGC copy).
  2. Attested copies of SC/ST/PwD/ OBC certificates, in case applicable.
  3. Certificate of educational qualification/ research experience, in case applicable, entitling the candidate for age relaxation, duly attested by a Gazetted Officer.
