| About Sainik School | ||
| The concept of the Sainik School originated in the visionary mind of late V. K. Krishna Menon, who was our Defence Minister in the early sixties. Its aim is to prepare the boys academically, mentally and physically for entry into the National Defence. | ||

| Eligibility | ||
| Boys aged between 10 and 11 years are eligible to appear for the entrance exam to VI standard and those aged between 13 and 14 years are eligible for IX standard. The students must have completed their previous years' education from recognised school to get admission to Sainik School. Age Limit Class VI – Boys born between 2nd July, 2004 and 1st July, 2005 (both days inclusive) Class IX – Boys born between 2nd July, 2001 and 1st July, 2002 (both days inclusive) |

| Guntur, Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Cuddapah, Tirupathi, Nellore, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Ananthapur, Kurnool, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry and Kalikiri. | ||
| Scholarships | ||
| Merit Scholarships, Income based Scholarships and Defence Scholarships are available. The Social Welfare and Tribal Welfare Departments award scholarships to the SC/ST boys whose parent's income is less than Rs. 18,000/- per annum under Bright Boys of Best Available Schools. | ||

| Prospectus, Application Form and last year's question papers can be obtained from 'The Principal, Sainik School, Korukonda, Vizianagaram (Dist.), A.P. PIN - 535 214' (OR) The Principal, Sainik School, Kalikiri, Chittoor (Dist), A.P. PIN – 517 234' on payment of Rs. 475/- or Rs. 325/- (only in case of SC and ST) through crossed demand draft payable at State Bank of India, Sainik School, Korukonda Branch, Code No. 2791 in favour of The Principal, Sainik School, Korukonda. Payment through MO and IPO will not be entertained. Prospectus and Application Form will be available at the respective School Offices for sale with effect from 15 Oct to 29 Nov, 2014 on all working days. | ||
