NTSE Stage-I exam to be conducted in Nov, 2014

NTSE is an exam conducted by NCERT to identify talented students and nurture them.
Eligibility
All students of class X studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the stage – I examination, conducted by states/UTs, in which the schools are located.
Selection process
There will be a two-stage selection process conducted for award of scholarships. Stage 1 will comprise of a written test conducted by states/UTs in which schools are located. Those who qualify in stage 1, will be eligible to appear for stage 2 which will be conducted by NCERT.
Application process
Students can collect the application form from liaison officers of the State/UT. The completed application form should be signed by the principal of the school. You may find out the fees for stage
1 written test, the mode of payment and the address at which the application forms are to be submitted should be confirmed from the liaison officer of the respective state. There is no fees charged by NCERT for stage 2.

Stage-II (National) Examination in all states & union territories 10th May, 2015 (Sunday)
Exam Pattern
Stage I examination at the State/UT level will comprise of two parts, namely (a) Mental Ability Test (MAT) & (b) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), which also includes language comprehensive test.
The pattern of Stage II examination will be intimated in due course.
Scholarship
On the basis of the National Talent Search Examination, 1000 scholarships will be awarded. The amount of scholarship will be as under :
(a) Scholarship of Rs. 1250/- per month for Class- XI to XII.
(b) Scholarship of Rs. 2000/- per month for undergraduates & Post-Graduates.
(c) Amount of Scholarship for Ph.D be fixed in accordance with the UGC norms.
