Intelligence Bureau (IB) Recruitment for Personal Assistants & Junior Intelligence Officers 2014

Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is inviting online applications from eligible and interested candidates for filling up posts of Personal Assistant, General Central Service, Group-B (Non-Gazetted/Ministerial) and Junior Intelligence Officer Grade- II/Technical, General Service, Group C (Non-Gazetted/Non-Ministerial) in Intelligence Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India.

Vacancy Details:
  • Personal Assistant (PA): 42 posts (UR-13, OBC-08, SC-13, ST-08)
  • Junior Intelligence Officer (JIO): 32 posts (UR-18, OBC-07, SC-05, ST-02)

Eligibility Criteria:
Age Limit: Candidates age must be between 18-27 years as on 2nd June 2014. Age relaxation is available for candidates belonging to reserved categories.
Educational Qualifications:
For Personal Assistant (PA) Post:
  1. 10+2 Pass or equivalent with proficiency in Stenography.
  2. Dictation – 10 minutes @ 100 words per minute.
  3. Skill test on computer – transcription of shorthand, 40 minutes (English) & 55 minutes (Hindi).
  4. Desirable Knowledge of Computer operations like Windows 2000/2003, MS Word, etc.
Junior Intelligence Officer: Matriculation with two years Industrial Training Institute (ITI) passed certificate in Radio Technician or Communication or Computer or Electronics or Electrical.
Exam Pattern:
Description of Exam Time Maximum Marks
Written Exam- Common for both PA and JIO Objective questions on GK, General Awareness, English, Reasoning, Mathematical aptitude, etc. 1 hour and 30 minutes 100
Stenography dictation test Typing speed test 10 minutes 100
Skill Test and Interview - - 100
Selection Process:
Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in Written exam, Skill Test and Interview.
How to Apply:
  • Candidate will have to visit official website @ www.mha.nic.in
  • Candidate will have to fill all the mandatory details and upload scanned photograph and signature.
  • Candidate will have to pay application fee of Rs 50/- for General and OBC category candidates (male). However, woman and candidates belonging to SC/ST category are exempted from payment of application fee.
  • Candidates can pay application fee in any branch of State Bank of India using challan form or could also pay online by using Netbanking, Credit or Debit card.
