Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India level entrance exam jointly conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven IITs (Delhi, Bombay, Guwahati, Kharagpur, Kanpur, Roorkee and Madras) to select candidates for admission into the IITs and IISs. The GATE score is also used by several public sector undertakings and private companies for screening candidates for employment purposes.

This time Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, is going to conduct Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). The online registrations will starts from 1st September, 2016 and the last date of filling online forms is 4th October, 2016. Candidates who are willing to apply for GATE 2017 can download the detailed brochure from the official website (www.gate.iitr.ernet.in) and apply online.
Eligibility Criteria for GATE 2017:
Qualifying Examination Details of Qualifying Examination / Degree Description of Eligible Candidates Year of Qualification cannot be later than
BE/B.Tech/B.Pharm Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/ Technology (4 years after 10+2 or 3 years after Diploma in Engineering/Technology) and those who are in the final year of such programs Appearing in the final year or completed 2017
B.Arch. Candidates holding Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Five year course) Appearing in the final year or completed 2017
B.Sc. (Research)/B.S. Bachelor’s degree in Science (Post-Diploma/4 years after 10+2) Appearing in the final year or completed 2017
M.Sc. /M.A./M.C.A. or equivalent Master’s degree in any of the stream Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent Appearing in the final year or completed 2017
Int. M.E./M.Tech (Post-B.Sc.) Post-B.Sc. Integrated Master’s degree programs in Engineering/Technology (Four year program) Appearing in the 2nd/3rd/4th year or completed 2019
Int. M.E./M.Tech or Dual Degree(after Diploma or 10+2) Integrated Master’s degree program or Dual Degree program in Engineering / Technology (Five year program) Appearing in the 4th/5th year or completed 2018
Int. M.Sc./Int. B.S.- M.S. Integrated M.Sc. or Five year integrated B.S. or M.S. program Appearing in the 4th year or completed 2017
Application Fee for GATE 2017:
Women Candidates Rs. 750
SC/ST/PWD Category Candidates Rs. 750
All Other Candidates Rs. 1500
GATE 2016 Important Dates:
• GATE 2017 Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) opens for registration, application filling and submission: 1st September, 2016
• Closing date for online application submission: 4th October, 2016
• Closing date for request for change of city: 16th November, 2016
• Admit Card availability: 5th January, 2016
• GATE 2017 Online Examination: 4th, 5th, 11th and 12th February, 2017
• Announcement of Result: 27th March, 2017
