Common Admission Test (CAT) 2015 Notification

Common Admission Test (CAT) is the most popular entrance exam for MBA admissions. It is conducted all over India by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) as an entrance exam for the admission to Postgraduate and Fellow Programs in more than 100 B-Schools including the IIMs themselves.
Application Procedure
The candidates have to buy the CAT voucher first. Registration is to be done online at iimcat.ac.in. The candidates also need to have a valid email id in order to communicate with IIMs.
Application Fee:
• Rs. 1600 - For General and NC-OBC candidates
• Rs. 800 - For SC/ST/PWD (DA) category
Important Dates:
• Sale of CAT Vouchers and Registration: 6th August to 20th September 2015
• Admit Card Availability: 15th October 2015 onwards
• Computer-Based Test Date: 29th November, 2015
• Declaration of Results: 2nd Week of January, 2016
CAT 2015 Eligibility Criteria
The candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) categories).
Those appearing for the final year of Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.
CAT 2015 Exam Pattern
There will be three sections:
• Quantitative Aptitude (QA)
• Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)
• Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VRC)

QA and VRC sections will have 34 questions each, and DILR section will have 32 questions. Some questions in each section may not be of multiple choice types. Instead, direct answers are to be typed on the screen. The tutorials will clearly explain this change. Also, there will be a provision of using basic on-screen calculator for computation.
The duration of the test has been increased from 170 minutes to 180 minutes. Candidates will be allotted exactly 60 minutes for answering questions in each section and they cannot switch from one section to another while answering questions in a section
Marking:
You will be awarded three marks for each correct answer. One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
