| CAT (Common Admission Test) is an online aptitude test conducted for admission to MBA/PGDM, pograms offered by Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) and other top mba colleges. like FMS, SP Jain, MDI, IIT's etc. | ||||||||||||
| Eligibility | ||||||||||||
| A candidate must have Bachelors degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA), awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. Candidates in final year of those who have completed degree but waiting for results can also apply provided that they submit a certificate stating that the candidate has completed all the requirements for obtaining the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of the certificate. |

| Application Procedure | ||||||||||||
| 1. Purchase of offline voucher has been discontinued. Candidates need to login to official CAT exam website (accessible from 1st August 2014). Registration fees can be paid via credit/debit cards or net banking. 2. Candidates will be allowed to enter three choices for preferred test centres in order of preference. CAT 2014 will be conducted in 99 cities comprising of 354 test sites. 3. This time, candidates have no option of choosing the exam dates. Exam dates will be allotted on random basis based on test centre. 4. After registration, candidates will be allowed to download the admit cards from 16 October 2014. |

| Test Pattern | ||||||||||||
| 1. Test Duration – 170 minutes (2 hours 50 minutes) 2. Number of sections – 2 (Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning.) 3. Number of questions in each section – 50. 4. Candidates have the flexibility to devote more or less time to each section according to their ability. One can switch over from one section to another section at any point during the examination timing. 5. The tutorial will not be available before the start of the examination and the candidates are advised to do the tutorials from the website well in advance. |
