Why were the author's uncles confident about manufacturing bicycles?

 
Because they considered it to be a difficult though achievable task

The answer seems wrong to me, his father's enthusiasm was actually not shared by the uncles. it was only after the permission to use hero was granted that the uncles agreed to manufacture cycles themselves. if father's optimism was the sole reason then the uncles wouldnt have denied the suggestioj when it was initially proposed by the author's father.
