The current passage and lecture has discussed on the topic of attitude towards the

elderly people. In the begining of the lecture, one of the authors point that

parents in their old age repaeat stories & work slowly. This point coincides with

the thinking of people of the ancient times.This attributes to the fact as in

ancient times people were defined old when they were unable to perform useful

tasks.

Further, linen & rubin also pointed that oldage sucks but he considered the oldage

when people are beyond 80 years of age. This point was supported by people of

classical, medieval & renaissance as well as modern era but in different

prospective. According to classical period, old age was not appreciated as for them

beauty and strength were the priorities.This is contrary fact for old age, as both

beauty & strength decline with the advancing age.

People of the medieveal & Renaissance era depicted oladage with both cruel & weak.
But, linen & rubin also supported oldage as according to them, oldage was heroic

and is not for people who are faint hearted which coincide with thinking of

historical era in relation to the positive notion about the oldage.
