Question: Directions: The problem below consists of a question and two statements numbered A and B given below it. You have to decide whether the data provided in the statements is sufficient to answer the question.

If today is Carol's birthday, how old is Carol?

Statement A: Six years ago she was half her present age.
Statement B: Three years from now she will be three times as old as she was seven years ago.

Answer 1: Statement (A) alone is sufficient but statement (B) alone is not.
Answer 2: Statement (B) alone is sufficient but statement (A) alone is not.
Answer 3: Both (A) and (B) together are not sufficient.
Answer 4: Both (A) and (B) are sufficient independently.
