I am against this scheme. as there would be revenue loss and expenditure would increase, also the are providing atm , as there is 39% of world's illiterate people are found in india, so until and unless they know how to use its of no use.
OK. So we agree to the fact that this will work but we need tighter norms to avoid loss to government. Lets discuss what sort of norms should be there? And how these will be formulated and implemented?
Yes surely it will work for financial inclusion as I myself have seen people my village rushing to open accounts after seeing the insurance and 5000 overdraft facility and government will need to tighten the norms to avoid loss to government.
In my opinion this will be really helpful in achieving financial inclusion, also people living in rural areas will get benefited through the policies of the govt as their will be intermediaries.
But what about the fact that this may lead to creation of "Not-so-usable" Accounts which might increase a cost of managing those accounts rather than income coming in?
Yes there will be creation of large number of not-so-usable accounts but if government makes some policies about necessary transactions within a month or two then this problem can be avoided.
