#175. Some students like classes where teachers lecture (Do all of the talking) in the class. Other students prefer classes where the students do some of the talking. Which type of class do you prefer.

From ancient times, the primary method of teaching is by delivering lecture by a teacher to the students in a class. All of the universities, colleges and schools follow same principle due to its high effectiveness. Lectures usually focus on teaching students as per the assigned course curriculum, so that, all of the students can learn the topic at one time. Teaching using lecture delivery is known as the best teaching pedagogy till date.

In my opinion, learning by listening to teacher's lecture limit one's ability to discuss the doubts. A healthy discussion always lead to good learning. By this way, we can understand the things a better way. This opinion although creates an ambiguity as if discussions are allowed in between the student to do some of the talking it will keep the student's mind fresh and it aids better learning. Students will not get bored in class as it is the case with some students. On the other hand, it reduces the time that a teacher need to deliver the lecture. Despite of that ambiguity, I strongly prefer healthy discussions in a lecture to get strong hold on topics taught in the class. 

Some students cannot listen a lecture continuously and their state of mind fluctuates. They tend to think something else and their focus from teacher shifts, if, sometimes they found the topic is not of their interest. Students can feel sleepy and will not learn much if, they are forced to listen to one person. Through interactive sessions that includes discussion among students and with the teacher can make students more active and, it allows students to understand what teacher has taught. With the help of small sessions on doubt clearing also aid in better learning. This is my personal experience and I agree on the fact that most of the students prefer classes where students interact with each other and with teacher as well. 

In a conclusion, the primary concern of a teacher is to teach students. A good teacher always want that the students will learn whatever is being taught. Hence, a teacher should take appropriate opinion about the preference of teaching method from students. If students want interactive sessions like, discussions in a class, it should be adopted by the teacher. Ultimately, what is the use of teaching? if the students would not grasp anything out of a certain teaching method.

Tejinder. I think this is a very good essay. It is well written, well developed and structured. The only problem is your introductory paragraph. It is too generalized and doesn't really say anything that contributes to the question You introduction should introduce your position and the reasons you hold the position.
