IS WELL BEING OF SOCIETY ENHANCED WHEN PEOPLE QUESTION AUTHORITY We live in the biggest democracy of the world.And questioning the authority is an integral part of democracy.Questioning on some important topics can be helpful in the strengthening of our democracy thus helping to overcome some loopholes. There are many cases when questioning needs to be an indispensable part.A few eg. to illustrate my point in a better way have been provided.We know there were many rape cases throughout the country but mass protests and so much of questioning by the people on the topic of female security after delhi rape case in a way forced the govt. not only to make but strongly implement some stringent laws and measures regarding this topic.Also,had the authority not been questioned it would have been impossible to turn over kingship, slavery, caste system and many other blots from the society,which ultimately gives the importance the questioning has. Apart from it we can take a few more eg from day to day life.In a company if the labour organisations were not there many of the labourers could have been exploited by there owners,infact it is this questioning to the authority which safeguards the rights.Moreover,when children were beated recklessly in the schools on the name of discipline it was the questioning by the parents to those authorities which at last resulted in passing of a law to protect the children from corporal punishments.All the above given points clearly illustrate the importance of questioning. But an important fact is that sometimes its the need of the hour or even logical to let the authorities function the way they are needed.It could be because of the fact that they have a wider point of view and will think unbiasedly.We can consider the functioning of security organisations of a country which normally do not disclose their works to general public.Also working of the states canot be questioned because a general person is unawre of all the facts. To conclude questioning is important to ehance the well being of society but it all depends on the aspects being questioned.Also many provisions have been provided by the govt. to question the authority but all it needs to be done systemettically.
