I think instead of going by aabove - we have st forward soln here - P(A U B ) = P(A) P(B) - P(A intrsect B) = 0.2 0.3 - 0.2 X 0.3 = 0.5 - 0.06 = 0.44

IN this question it is asked either A fails or B fails not either A or B or both fails so answer should be none of these

A
