Now, crack the CAT with a rupee

XAT 2016 Analysis

Xavier’s Aptitude Test (XAT) was conducted on January 3, 2016.

The exam was divided into two parts. First part had 3 sections, namely, Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making and Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation. The time allotted for these three sections was 170 minutes. The second part consisted of General Knowledge and Essay Writing. Time allotted for these sections was 35 minutes.

Another major highlight of the section was negative marks for un-attempted questions. For every question beyond 13 un-attempted questions, there was a negative mark of 0.05.

XAT 2016: Changes and Preparation Strategy

XAT 2016

XAT or Xavier Aptitude Test is the next most popular exam to CAT among MBA aspirants. It is regarded as one of the toughest MBA entrance exams. XAT 2016 will consist of 78 questions, to be attempted in 170 minutes. Compared to last year, the number of questions has been reduced by 6 and time allocated has been increased by 30 minutes. Besides, the level of difficulty of the test will be lower. This is aimed to increase the number of attempts by the test takers. At the same time, to reduce the number of un-attempted questions, negative marking of 0.05 has been introduced for every un-attempted question beyond the limit of 13 questions allowed to be left out.
