Civil Services Examination – Relaxation on Number of Attempts

Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Govt. of India has just released a notice mentioning that Government has approved “two additional attempts to all categories of candidates w.e.f. Civil Services Examination 2014, with consequential age relaxation of maximum age for all categories of candidates, if required.

There is no restriction on number of attempts by a candidate belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) and a candidate belonging to other Backward Class is allowed to attempt Civil services examination as many as seven times.
