Analysing the performance and needs of various students, Content Research Experts at TCY have made a highly structured 10 weeks classroom programme. 5 Day-Classes a week, 2 hours a day give the desired regularity to a GRE aspirant which is all the more important to those who find vocabulary as a weak area. The Weekend option gives the students the desired flexibility.

GRE Information Module: Covers the basic information regarding the test – Structure of the test, Adaptive nature of the test, Experimental Section.

GRE Diagnostic Test: To assess the level of the student, the diagnostic test gives you the exposure to the GRE test. Consequently, the required strategy is formulated.

Analytical Writing Assessment Book: Comprehensive AWA Book, which includes, introduction on the subject of AWA, templates of issues and arguments give the required frameworks for writing, basic flaws in arguments are analysed to avoid the common pitfalls. For those who have not been reading much, examples of personalities and important historical events deliver a powerful impact in Issues. Writing tips are given to avoid the common grammatical mistakes (redundancy, misplaced modifier, pronoun errors) in writing.

The methodology of teaching AWA involves the step by step approach in which use of logic is encouraged. Logical analysis of an argument is one aspect but thinking logically even on an issue requires sustained practice. E.g. In the issue, “The function of science is to reassure; the purpose of art is upset. Therein lies the value of each.” Even before one begins thinking of ideas on the topic, develop a framework of thinking:

Ø What is included in art? The definition of art would determine the scope of your essay. Ø Do you only include painting or music in art or also include sculpture, literature, etc
Ø Does science ever reassure us?
Ø Does art upset us?
Ø Is the value of science and art limited to this only.
Ø Can science upset us?
Ø Can art reassure us?

Also the grading of the essays is done by the AWA experts as per the norms prescribed by the ETS. Student responses to all essays, as per the list of GRE released on the website, are evaluated by the TCY AWA experts.

Vocket and Addendum for Vocabulary: The Vocket is the word for pocket size, easy-to-carry booklets of vocabulary given to students. It covers more than 3000 words which arm a GRE student with sufficient vocabulary knowledge to ace the GRE verbal section. Also an addendum is given which includes the important and new words which keep appearing on the test and word groups. It has been prepared after analysing the latest trends in the test.
Methodology involves taking periodic tests of antonyms after one letter gets over. Crosswords for vocabulary are also given to test vocabulary. To facilitate the learning of tough words, word stories are made which backed up by vivid imagination exercises; enhance the recall of the word. Word origins are taken up wherever relevant to develop a better understanding of the word.

Verbal Ability Book:
The book contains exhaustive coverage of questions which simulate the difficulty level of the actual GRE. It contains 32 RC passages, 200 questions each on Sentence Completions, Analogies, and Antonyms.
Methodology of teaching involves building the reading skills of the student by recommending books for parallel reading. Given the short time period of preparation for GRE (short as compared to the preparation for MBA entrance), strategies and techniques for improving the score in comprehension are also discussed. These strategies include- 111l approach, preview method, big idea approach and many more to get the best performance out of the student.
For analogies - building of bridges, for sentence completions anticipation method, for antonyms elimination method are a few of the strategies that we discuss with the students.

Quant Compendium: A concise book which contains all the formulae and basics of the concepts required for quantitative ability.

Quantitative Ability Book: 666 questions on 21 topics of Quant. These are followed by 7 Exercises on Quantitative Comparisons with 126 questions. 6 Exercises in Problem Solving with 85 questions. 2 QC and PS exercises with 49 questions. This book carries 926 questions.
Tests of Quantitative Ability:

7 Tests of Quant Comparison: 175 Questions

7 Tests of Problem Solving: 175 Questions

8 Sectional Tests: 200 Questions

Full Length Tests: Ten paper based test are conducted with their analysis after the course is covered. These are given to test the concepts the students have learned before they begin taking there Computer Adaptive Tests.

Ø Analogies: 50 exercises with 1000 questions
Ø Sentence Completions: 20 exercises with 400 questions

Computer Based Testing: The final phase of preparation of GRE is very vitals as it involves taking test under simulated conditions. These tests include:
Ø Ten Computer Based Tests
Ø Ten Computer Adaptive Tests
