 » Benefits Through GRE

Demand for qualified professionals in education and research industry is increasing. The scarcity of qualified manpower in the US is endemic because of growing economy. Indians have proven their capability overseas more often than not. So the opportunities are beckoning you to take a quantum leap in your career. For example, another growth area has emerged in the post-September 11 world: Small biotech firms and traditional pharmaceutical companies alike will be looking for bioengineers to work on counterterrorism efforts ranging from research on toxins to voice- and face-recognition technologies.

Affordable education:  Since research activities are conducted at the universities and there is need for qualified scientists, universities offer many scholarships to students taking admission through GRE. One can also avail Teaching Assistantships (TAs) and Research Assistantships (Ras). Many students have availed this opportunity to study abroad and enrich their career. Most M.S. students don't have to pay full fee for their education as they get a combination of university grants and research or teaching assistantships, which pay for tuition and basic living expenses. Low interest loans and grants are readily available. The federal government also offers hundreds of fellowships for both masters and Ph.D. students through the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, and the Department of Defense, amongst others.

Not to mention the distinctive international experience of interacting with people of different nationalities and learning about the latest developments throughout the world.
Admission requirements are relatively less stringent. The need for professionals in various spheres has led to the admission requirements being less stringent. e.g. Work experience is not mandatory for universities if one applies through GRE.
