Following are the steps involved in visa application:

Application form DS – 156:

The first stage for applying for a non immigrant visa applicant is completion of the application form DS – 156. This can be obtained either:

Free of cost from the Embassy on any working day.

The form may also be downloaded from the internet by clicking here.

Applying for interview:  

There are two ways to apply for a visa: Personal interview; or via the Drop Box.Personal Interview: To schedule an interview, log on to www.ttsvisas.com. When the appointment is confirmed, the applicant will get a return e-mail within half an hour with the instructions. All first time students have to apply in person and must schedule an appointment at the above mentioned website.The 

Drop Box Program: Some persons seeking nonimmigrant visas to the U.S., primarily those over 60 years of age or renewing a recently expired visa of the same category can apply through the Embassy Drop-Box program without needing to come to the Embassy.

Documents that you need to bring to your scheduled interview for applying for non immigrant visa:

· Passport valid for travel to the U.S. for at least six months after your date of entry in to the U.S.

· Visa Application Form - DS-156: Fully completed and signed

· Supplemental Application Form DS-157 : Every applicant must also submit this form - fully completed and signed.

· Application form DS-158: Submit the form - fully completed and signed
