Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-University Grants Commission Notifies National Eligibility Test for Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship

Council of Scientific and Industrial Research - Human Resource Development Group (CSIR - HRDG) and University Grants Commission (UGC) are jointly conducting National Eligibility Test (NET) for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Eligibility For Lectureship for Engineering Students. CSIR-UGC is conducting NET twice a year in the month of June and December. CSIR-UGC has announced the exam dates for NET December, 2012. The eligible candidates may apply through online and offline mode.

Good News for Engineering graduate students who want to pursue PhD, CSIR-NET is introducing sixth paper in engineering sciences, which will be common to all areas of engineering disciplines from December, 2012.

Important Dates:
Opening date of sale of application forms and information bulletin 21st August, 2012
Last date of sale of application forms and information bulletin 18th September, 2012
Last date of receipt of completed application forms with required enclosures 24th September, 2012
Last date of receipt of completed application forms for applicants from remote areas 1st October, 2012
Opening date of on-line submission of applications 21st August, 2012
Last date of on-line submission of applications 24th September, 2012
Last date of on-line submission of applications for applicants from remote areas 1st October, 2012
Date of CSIR UGC NET examination 23rd December, 2012

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational QualificationBE, B.Tech or equivalent in engineering with at least 55% marks for General/OBC and 50% marks for SC/ST, Physically and visually handicapped (PH) candidates.
(*) Students in the 4th year of the programme will also be eligible to apply.
The application form and information bulletin can be obtained from the designated branches of Indian Bank and Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) and candidates can also apply online through official website of CSIR.
