Birla Institute of Technology (BIT Mesra) Admission to B.E. Courses in Jaipur Centre

Applications are invited for admission to 4 year (8-semester) Bachelor of Engineering Programme of the Institute at Jaipur Centre for the session 2010-2011 in the disciplines of:

• Computer Science- 60 seats
• Electronics & Communication Engineering - 60 seats
• Electrical & Electronics Engineering - 60 seats

Reservation & distribution of seats:

• The Institute observes statutory reservation in respect of SC, ST and physically handicapped persons at all its centres in India.
• 50 % seats are reserved for candidates from the state of Rajasthan, 10 seats are reserved for girl candidates and 20 seats for candidates from other states in each discipline.

Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility criteria for admission to the B.E. programmes at BIT Jaipur Centre is as given below:

• The maximum age limit for admission is 21 years for general candidates as on 01.10.2010, relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates i.e. age limit is 26 years for SC/ST candidates
• Pass in all subjects of Class 12 / I. Sc. or equivalent examination, with at least 70 % marks in aggregate counting all required subjects including Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (60 % for SC/ST).
• Pass in Class 10 with minimum aggregate 65% (60% for SC/ST) counting all required subjects.
• Valid Rank in AIEEE - 2010
• Selected candidates will be required to produce proof of meeting all eligibility conditions at the time of admission, failing which the provisional selection will be cancelled.

How to Apply:

• Candidates should obtain the Undergraduate Information Brochure and Application Form to apply for admission.
• Candidate may also download application form from Institute website (link above) and follow the procedure given for applying with the downloaded application form.
• The Information Brochure covers admission toBachelor of Engineering programmes at Birla Institute of Technology, Jaipur Campus. The 4-Years BE programmes are full-time semester based (Total 8 semesters).Candidates must indicate their choice/preferences of disciplines in the Application form.
• The application form has a Form Number, which may be noted and cited in correspondence if required.Candidates should keep photocopies of their completed forms for their own reference.

Procedure for obtaining Brochure & Application Form from Centre:

• The prescribed Application Forms and Undergraduate Information Brochure are available across the counter of BIT Jaipur Centre office fromJune 10, 2010, on all working days during working hours,on payment by crossed Demand Draft of Rs. 800/- drawn in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, payable at Jaipur.
• To receive the Undergraduate Information Brochure of 2010 and form by post,send a crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 900/- in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, payable at Jaipur, along with two self-addressed slips of paper (10 cm x 10 cm) with your name and address clearly written in block capitals and telephone number, and a letter mentioning the course applied for to reach byJune 20, 2010 . Write UG: BE- 2010 on the envelope.
• An application fee of Rs 1000/- in the form of crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, payable at Jaipur has to be sent with the completed Application form.
• Please note that all payments will only be accepted by crossed demand draft as details given above.
• Candidates should complete each application form neatly and send in the envelope provided, along with Demand Draft of applicable fees, photocopies of pass certificate of class 10, Mark sheets of class 10 and class 12 & Caste/Special category certificate, and one completed acknowledgement card. Write your name, your application form no. and course applied (BE) on the back of photocopies of the documents.Completed forms must reach the office of Director, Birla Institute of Technology, Jaipur Centre, 27, Malviya Industrial Area , Jaipur -302017 by 30th June 2010. Applications reaching us late after the due date may not be processed.

Procedure for applying with the downloaded application form:

• Along with the duly filled application form, the candidate has to enclose a crossedDemand Draft of Rs. 1900/- in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, payable at Jaipur. Undergraduate Information Brochure and acknowledgement card mentioning his registration number will be sent to the candidate. This would also be displayed on the Institute website.
• Candidate should completedownloaded application form neatly and send ina envelope, along with

IMPORTANT:

• Candidate must ensure to enclose Demand Draft of applicable fee along with the completed application form.
• Acknowledgement card will be marked with a Registration Number and sent back to candidates. The registration number of the eligible candidates would also be displayed on the website and Notice board of the Institute.

Selection Procedure:

• Provisional selections to the 4-year (8-semester) B.E. programmes at BIT Jaipur Centre will be made on the basis of merit based on Percentage of Marks in aggregate in Class 12 / I. Sc. or equivalent examination in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry subjects and All India Rank & Score obtained in AIEEE-2010 conducted by CBSE, New Delhi, from within the otherwise eligible candidates.
• Provisionally selected candidates will be called for counselling. Provisional selection lists, along with procedures for admissions will be displayed on the Institute website and notice board of Jaipur center and BIT Mesra Office. No separate intimation will be sent to candidates.
• Candidates called for Counselling must possess all their original certificates and documents for necessary verification and submission, if selected, else their provisional offer may be withdrawn. Caste and special category certificates must be signed by competent authorities of the concerned states.
• Candidates should note that they would be required to have the following documents at the time of Counselling:

1.Original Certificates and Mark sheets of Class 10 and Class 12 / I. Sc. or equivalent.
2.Admit Card and Rank & Score Cad for AIEEE-2010.
3.Originals of caste certificate and / or being physically handicapped (if applicable).
4.Originals of other special category certificates (if applicable).
5.One set of photocopies of all these documents.
6.Three recent colour passport size photographs, which should be identical to the photograph affixed in the application form.

• After verification of the original documents in counselling, the provisionally selected candidate may be allotted admission. Selected candidates will be required to take admission within the given date after the announcement of results, failing which vacant seats may be allotted to waitlisted candidates. The list of waitlisted candidates will also be announced on our website and institute notice board.
