Alpa tulsiyani asks : two pipes a and b can fill a tank in 24 and 30 minutes respectively.both are opened together,but at the end of 8 minutes the first is turned off.the time taken ti fill the remaining part of the tank is.....if anyone know how to do it thn post it,

look together a n b would fill in 8 mins 8(1/24+1/30)=3/5th of the work d remaing 2/5th work can be filld by b =x(1/30)=2/5 =12 mins=x

yes, you can get good marks but your knowledge base and your time-management but your carrier subjects basic things you know that and you get good rank in gate exam but answering is car-full put them .

Vishal chugh asks : From a certain number of mangoes a man sold half the number of existing mangoes plus 1 to the first customer, sold 1/ 3 rd of the remaining plus 1 to the second customer, 1/ 4 th of the remaining plus 1 to the third customer and 1/ 5 th of the remaining plus 1 to the fourth one. He then found that he did not have any mangoes left. How many mangoes did he originally have? (Note: He can sell a part of a mango as well.)

Answer : 1/x + 1/y = 1/z

as time taken will be equal in both cases as
3A/15x + 2A/10y = A/5z
after solving the answer is (i) 1/x + 1/y = 1/z
