Niyati thakur asks : the dist. between two places A and B is 300ms.rohan starts running towards B and while deepak from B to A they meet after 4 min.had rohan doubled his speed and deepak reduces his speed by 50% they would have met 1 min.earlier.find the speed of rohan and deepak.

let rohan speed is x m/min and deepak speed is y m/min. let they meet at point C. then AC=x.4........(1) BC=y.4.........(2) Ac+BC=300 x.4+y.4=300 x+y=75.....(3) from second condition rohan speed is 2x and deepak speed is y/2. Let they meet at point D. AD=2x.3........(4) BD=y/2.3.....(5) AD+BD=300 3(2x+y/2)=300 4x+y=200.......(6) x+y=75.........(3) on solving eqn 6 & 3 x=125/3 m/min putting value of x in eqn 3 we get y=75-125/3 y=100/3 m/min speed of rohan =125/3 m/min speed of deepak =100/3 m/min
