In a two-digit number, the sum of the digits a and b equals one-fourth the number minus nine. If a is twice of b, what is the value of b?

Why did you choose the number as 10a b ? If we take the two digit number as 10b a, we can never get the answer . It seems the question is not correct .

X is the price per dozen. Question asked is total money he had. So it will be 2x=12. Please correct the answer

If y = a/(a + b) and x = a/b, what is 'y' in terms of 'x'?

Why not 1 x? since y=a/a b which makes 1=a/b => 1 x
