Ans is 3. acc. to n+l rule, 4f=8 and 5d=8 but if n+l is equal, then electron goes into less value of n.

According to the principle of energy levels based on (n+l) values theorbital with lowest value is less energetic here 4f and 5d has a n+l value7 so comparing by n values we get 4f less energy than 5d next higher energy level is 5d
