mean = (a+b+8+5+10)/5 = 6 a+b+23=30 a+b=7 ................................(1) variance = (a2 + b2 +64 + 25+100)/5 - (mean)2 =6.8 (a2 + b2 +189)/5 -36 = 6.8 (a2 + b2 + 9) = 34 a2 + b2 = 25....................(2) from 1 and 2 : a = 3 and b = 4 (or) a=4 and b=3
