The admission process for the academic year 2012-14 has started off late and is going on at present. Our portal talked to Prof. (Col.) Balasubramanian, President, Sri Balaji Society, to know more about the process.
Prof. (Col.) Balasubramanian mentioned that it has been a week since the admission process has started. Talking about that, he mentions, “We have started the process about a week ago. Though we have started rather late, but we have so far received good response.”
When asked about the challenges faced due to the late start, he responded by saying, “We did face some challenges due to the late start in terms of a slow start but things are much better now. Thanks to our strong alumni base and the reputation it has, we have not faced such grave challenge. We have successfully started our GD PI processes and are going on with it.”
Talking about the shortlisting and selection criteria of the B-schools, Prof. (Col.) A Balasubramanian states that the scores of CAT, MAT and CMAT are accepted. “We do not believe in shortlisting students through a particular cut off mark. We select candidates through GD, PI, Extempore and role playing processes which are conducted during the selection rounds. 30 per cent weightage is given to entrance exam score, GD, PI respectively and 10 per cent weightage is given to the performance in extempore and role play.”
The GD PI processes will be over by May 26 and the merit list will be declared by June 08, 2012. The session will start from June 28, 2012.
